Currently Reading

Because I want you to do my 2018 book challenge with me, I’d love to share a little bit about what I’m reading.

I am not including the books I listen to on audible as reading, but I thought I’d share because I find that to be important as well!

Reading: You are a Badass By Jen Sincero (Self Development)
Every thought leader or inspirational author has similar, if not the same points to make.  I have read countless books on the secrets to being your best self, and the best part is that the answers are out there.  Here’s the thing.  Everyone says nearly the same thing, but the way one person says it can really speak to you, even if you have heard a version of this truth elsewhere.  The way one person says something, at a certain point in your life just hits you differently each time.  This is why, like showering, they recommend reading inspirational things daily.  So no, you have not heard it all, and yes there is always room for improvement.  This book goes by quickly, and colloquially gives all the information you need in an way that’s easy to understand.  It’s also a best seller so you’ll have something to talk about amongst acquaintances, while practicing principals that will change your life for the better.
Reading: This is where I leave you by Jonathan Trooper (Fiction)
I find it necessary to always be reading two books at once.  My issue with fiction is that I often love and enjoy it so much, I don’t want to do anything else besides read until I’m done with the book.  (Like I just read Turtles All The Way Down by John Green. In one day. In one sitting.  It took me all day.)  I’m trying to pace myself with this one.  It’s SO good.  It’s also incredibly written.  The author’s use of language is beautiful.  Also, this was made into a movie, but as a rule of thumb always read the book first!
Audibling: The Art of War
Audible is the greatest thing ever invented.  You can have someone, usually the author, read to you while you’re driving, or while you’re folding clothes or cooking.  If you don’t have this app already, I highly recommend you get on it!
